Welcome To Old Hutton Church Of England School

About Us

Old Hutton Church of England Primary School is situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, an area of great natural beauty, close to the market town of Kendal in South Cumbria.

We are a small school with big ambitions for our children and all in our wider school community. We have high standards and strive for excellence in everything we do. We think that our school is a very special place and we hope you will too!

Our exciting website is here to help you find out about us and all the wonderful things we do to make learning fun. It is also a place for our pupils to celebrate and share their achievements and to help stimulate their future learning.

Vision & Values

Learning for 'Life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10)

Life in all its fullness is about living a varied and full life full of learning, growing, helping, reward, joy, excitement, love and caring for each other. At school we aim to help each other to learn how to do this. We know that it is not always easy to live life in this way and so we help each other with the challenges that come along the way. As a Church of England School we also look to Jesus to help and guide us.

Our Church

Our outstanding school was established by the Church of England and we are proud of our strong Christian foundation and family ethos. Our Christian values of Friendship, Forgiveness, Peace, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility, Courage, Trust, Humility and Hope run through everything we do.

We have close links with our parish and local church of St John’s, which is just next door, as well as with the Diocese of Carlisle.  We are involved in many shared activities and events We enjoy a daily act of Collective Worship and our pupil-run Collective Worship Committee helps to organise this.  We also actively study other faiths through a variety of first-hand experiences which enable our pupils to develop a good understanding of our multi-cultural society.
